Last Walkout Basement Is a Step-Up at Greenhaven

SCHAUMBURG, IL, December 4 –Greenhaven is running out of walkouts. Kenar Homes announced today that there’s only one home with a walkout basement remaining at Greenhaven, the builder’s new townhome development in rapidly growing Romeoville.  “Not long ago, we started out with six homesites offering walkout basements, and now we’re down to our last one,” said Laura Johnson, Director of Sales and Marketing for Kenar. “These are large, full basements with beautiful private views, and that’s why they’ve been so popular.”
An Amhurst model, the “walkout” will be available for move-in next month. The two-story home features a living room with volume ceilings and a formal dining area with separate breakfast room off the kitchen—which includes maple cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and more. The home also includes two bedrooms and a loft, two-and-a-half baths, ceramic tile, oak railings, ceiling fan outlets, central air conditioning, and a two-car garage. The deluxe master suite contains a walk-in closet and a luxury bath. All that—and the basement, too—adds up to a current price of $265,692.

“This place won’t be available for long,” said Johnson. “Even aside from the home’s rare basement, the development offers luxury and location at an affordable price, and that’s hard to find, even in a buyer’s market such as this one.”

Greenhaven’s location is a real selling point. Sitting only about 30 miles southwest of Chicago, the development provides residents with quick access to the city—and interesting points in-between—through several major highways, including I-55 and the recently completed I-355. The latter, under construction for more than three years, gives Romeoville and neighboring suburbs a faster and smoother connection to the whole Chicagoland area.

Meanwhile, Greenhaven is already just minutes away from Naperville, the atmospheric, charmingly upscale suburb to the north. Voted America’s second Best Place to Live by Money Magazine in 2006, the town boasts a large and dynamic downtown with plenty of restaurants and cultural attractions. Greenhaven residents are easily able to visit and enjoy the sandy, six-acre swim park Centennial Beach; the huge 72-bell musical tower Millennium Carillon; the quaint new Main Street Promenade shopping center; and the always popular, brick-paved Riverwalk on the DuPage River.

“People who have been holding off on a purchase—waiting for just the right home with just the right value—will find it in the Amhurst ‘walkout.’  It’s a step-up and a leap-forward: a new home in a new year,” said Johnson.

Greenhaven is located at 1092 W. Birch Lane in Romeoville. Take I-55 to Weber Rd., south 1 block to Normantown Rd., east 1 mile to Birch Lane, go right to the sales center. Open daily 10-5. For more information about the home, please call Kenar at 815-293-1600 or visit www.kenarhomes.com.
